Characteristics - The conservatory roof is
an aluminium roof, clad with PVCu cappings, designed and engineered to outperform
all current conservatory roof standards.
- A complete and easy to assemble
conservatory roof system offering an extensive range of roof designs to suit all
profile systems.
- All components and extrusions have a 10 year guarantee
and are designed to withstand the extremes of 25 years British weather, offering
a low maintenance and corrosion free system.
Appearance
- Available in white, mahogany, mahogany on white, golden oak, golden oak
on white, rosewood and rosewood on white.
Eaves / ring beam
- The eaves is a PVCu extrusion that fixes to an internal
box section, aluminium which provides structural stability.
- The eaves
has a bespoke inverted channel extruded into it to accept an integral aluminium
swivel that rotates to the pitch of the roof, whilst rafters are attached by means
of dual bolt carriers.
- The external wall of the PVCu section has location
clips extruded into it to accept the twist and fix O/G gutter brackets.
- The
facets are fixed together by bespoke and standard angle aluminium cleats.
- The
eaves is designed to give a maximum of a 3mm deflection over a set of double doors
anywhere in the UK. The maximum allowance being 5mm.
Glazing
bars - There are four glazing bars that accomodate every style of roof
including both 24mm and 32mm glazing.
- Each glazing bar is designed to
accomodate steel reinforcing which allows spans of up to 5000mm to be achieved.
PVCu
cappings and claddings - All white PVCu cappings are co-extruded
with a black nitrile gasket for a weathertight installation.
- Secure
positive snap on fixing.
- There are four cappings for each style of roof.
- There is a choice of ogee or square internal claddings.
- Location
guides extruded into the bottom rafter and hip claddings for positive location.
- Aluminium
rafter cappings are standard on foiled roofs to eliminate PVCu distortion.
Ridge
- A strong one-piece heavy-duty aluminium extrusion with 15% greater strength
over other
leading systems. - There are four basic ridge types offering
various pitch angles -
Victorian and Edwardian (15o-23o, 24o-30o and 31o-40o),
standard Lean to (5o-14o, 15o-23o and 24o-30o), and low pitch Lean to (2.5o-5o) - Integral
screw ports for “Spider” fixing extruded into the ridge.
- Slide
in dual bolt carriers that pivot to eliminate stress loading on rafter fixing.
- Location
guides extruded into the clip on ridge bottom capping for quick and easy installation.
- Snap
on top capping with integral guides for finial and crestings.
Valley
- Male and female sections that are totally independent. The structural
integrity of the roof is taken from the ridge and rafter assembly.
- The
valley sections are fully supported on top of the ring beam and on top of the
ridge.
- All fixings onto the valley are hidden by cappings.
- The
valley has a clip on top capping with a neoprene rubber flexible centre section,
enabling the capping to rotate to the roof pitch.
- The valley has two independent
interlocking bottom PVCu claddings, which clip into the valley and have a decorative
groove.
- The valley is capable of a 4000mm projection on plan.
Tie-bars
- Stainless steel with PVC co-ordinating sleeve.
- Shepley offers
three tie-bar options - standard three-way, fan three-way and five-way tie-bar.
- Tie-bar
brackets are made from high grade structural alloy.
- Available in white,
brown and brass options.
- The tie-bars are BBA certified independently
of all other roof components.
Spider - The spider
is a one-piece cast aluminium component and is pre-drilled and set in the factory,
accommodating up to 13 rafters with large glazing arms.
- Two part pin and
grub screw fixing for rafter arms up to the spider.
- Each rafter fitted
with a spider arm and purpose made glazing arm cover.
- Hard foam weather
seal to complete the weatherproofing.
Roof pitches
- Low pitch Lean to from 2.5° to 4.99°.
- Bespoke Lean to from
5° to 30°.
- Victorian and Edwardian from 15° to 40°.
Rainwater
system - High capacity rainwater system (3.5 litre per second water
flow capacity) with quick fitting twist and fix gutter brackets hidden within
the gutter.
- The gutter is an O/G gutter and has a range of sleeved adapters
to locate into most box gutter situation.
Box gutter
- Aluminium box gutter with insulated flat bottom.
- 174mm wide with
increased water capacity to suit all UK domestic and some commercial installations.
- Purpose
made support side arms for carrying the eaves beam.
- Full range of gallows
brackets.
- Full range of both angled and straight adaptors to join the
rainwater system.
- A complete range of fabricated options to include high
back extensions, cut outs and bespoke angle cuts.
- The box gutter has its
own bespoke snap on capping to cloak all visible aluminium. (excluding the vertical
profiles on an elevated box gutter).
Glazing - Choice
of 25mm or 32mm polycarbonate in clear, bronze, opal, bronze/opal, athermic opal
(up to 35% reduction of solar energy transmission).
- Snap in weather tight
glazing pockets uniquely locate into the ridge and half ridge section.
- The
glazing pockets provide cover of 23mm at the ridge enhancing weather performance.
Unique
fittings - Dual bolt carriers to enable fast fixing on site.
- Eaves
beam provides a weather-tight seal from the eaves to the polycarbonate or glass.
- Ridge
fixing bolts to secure the ridge to the host wall.
- Polycarbonate end closures
to protect and ventilate the flutes of the polycarbonate.
